We, at KegelToner.com wanted to be the
first to show you the incredible results of a recent comparison study. The study was performed at Cook Spring Co., a large and
respected manufacturer of precision springs that has been in business
more than 45 years. (Cook Spring Co. produces the springs used in the
KegelMaster 2000). The measurements were made using a
Chatillon Spring Force Tester model DST 80. Anyone with adequate
measurement equipment should be able to produce similar test
results.
RESISTANCE SETTINGS:
You may not know it, but a wide variety of
devices have been invented in an attempt to better exercise pelvic floor
muscles. However, the KegelMaster 2000 is the only pelvic floor
exerciser that uses four springs to provide 15 different resistance
levels, as shown above by the pink bars. No other device comes
close. These resistance levels, entitled "Muscle
Strength" on the chart, range from 1.22 to 7.8 lbs. when the unit
is closed to within 1/8 inch from completely closed.(1) Both the
range of resistance and the number of steps are very important because each
women's vaginal strength is different. Feedback reported to
KegelMaster 2000 Ltd. indicate that many women need to start at the
lowest resistance setting, then gradually strengthen their muscles up to
resistance setting 4 or higher in order to achieve the desired results
of stopping incontinence and/or improving their sex life.
A product that looks similar to the
KegelMaster 2000 has recently been promoted. It's results are
shown by the blue bars on the graph above and we think the chart speaks
volumes. The competitor's product may look similar in
appearance but the resistance levels (muscle strength needed to close
the unit) are not. Since it uses only two springs and those
springs are in close proximity to each other, only three resistance
levels are obtained and all of those are of low strength. In
fact, in seven women that had been using the KegelMaster 2000 for at
least 6 months, the competitor's product could not produce enough
resistive force to extend their vaginal muscles.
RANGE OF MOVEMENT:
Another important difference in the products has
to do with the range of motion they can apply to the vaginal
muscles. The KegelMaster 2000 has a threaded screw and knob to
adjust the opening of the device from completely closed to open 2 5/8
inches. Since every women is different due to how many vaginal
births they have had, their age, unique physical anatomy, etc., each
woman needs a different adjustment in order to maximize her benefit from
the product. For example, women that have had 3 to 4 children by
natural birth often need the full 2 5/8 inch extension before they feel
gentle pressure against their vaginal muscles. This gentle
pressure is recommended to KegelMaster 2000 customers as the starting
point for their contractions and is believed to provide the best benefit
to muscle development.
The competitor's product has three fixed
openings that are controlled by an o-ring positioned in one of three
grooves. It opens to approximately 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 1/4
inches for the three settings. According to women who have spoken
with KegelMaster 2000 Ltd., this amount of opening would be insufficient
to provide any measurable benefit to them.
CONCLUSIONS:
Every woman is physiologically unique
and needs a product that can adjust to her body. The KegelMaster 2000 is the only pelvic
floor exerciser in the world that can provide a full range of adjustable
resistance settings up to 7.8 lbs and a 2 5/8 inch range of motion that is completely
and safely adjustable. This
wide flexibility results in a product that is best able to meet the
individual needs of each woman. To date, no other
product comes close.
Notes:
(1) Less resistance is required to partially close the device as
opposed to completely closing it. This means that the actual
number of resistance levels is almost limitless between 0 to 7.8 lbs.
